Middle School (Grades 6-8)

Middle school is a time of change. As our youth make the transition from elementary school into middle school, we hope that they will begin to make a transition in their faith, from a faith that is borrowed to a faith they can own. In middle school, we provide our youth with opportunities for building healthy relationships with other middle schoolers in the example of Jesus Christ. Mission, music, fellowship, Bible study, and worship are all important aspects of middle school ministry at First Presbyterian Church. Middle school events are open to all current sixth, seventh, and eighth graders.

Sunday School

youth middle schoolMiddle School Y-Search (grades 6-7)
In Y-Search, on Sundays from 9:45 to 10:45 am, middle school youth grow in faith by searching and asking questions. This helps them to transition toward owning their own faith where they make decisions about who they are, who God is, and how to live faithfully in the world.

Confirmation (grade 8)
The year-long Confirmation program focuses on preparing our eighth graders for adult membership in the church. Worship, fellowship, retreats, lock-ins, and mission are all parts of the Confirmation learning process. We hold Confirmation class on Sunday, 9:45 to 10:45 am, September through May.
